Scran give Manx music a modern, dynamic twist and the band consists of some of the most talented young traditional musicians in the Isle of Man. Under the mentorship of Paul Rogers (Mabon, Strengyn & The Fecktones), the band has grown out of Culture Vannin’s Manx music youth movement, Bree. Scran members are aged between 11 and 18 and between them they play a myriad of instruments and sing in Manx and English!
Scran clinched second place in the Next Big Thing 2017 and produced their debut album, Nane shortly after.
Past members of Scran who feature on the Nane album include fiddle player Isla Callister (TRIP) and BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Musician of the Year 2018, Mera Royle on harp.
