Festival Interceltique de Lorient (FIL) in Brittany is the biggest Celtic festival in the world, and for over 40 years, the Isle of Man has been involved in showcasing Manx music, dance and culture to the rest of Europe.
The 54th edition of the Interceltic Festival of Lorient will take place from August 1-10 2024 with the theme: ‘Les Cousins Amerique’. The festival’s Isle of Man delegates, Grainney Sheard and Ealee Sheard, are now inviting musicians and dancers to express an interest if they’d like to be considered for next year.
The festival favours acts who perform traditional music and/or dance from the Isle of Man, or artists who perform in the Manx Gaelic language.
FIL is a wonderful experience and opportunity for performers. Travel, dorm accommodation and catering are provided by the festival, and performers are normally expected to stay for the whole festival.
If you or your group are interested in representing the Island at next year's festival, contact the Delegates (mannin@festival-interceltique.bzh) along with your promo pack (biog, photos, recordings, website, etc.) which will be passed onto the festival committee for consideration.
The deadline for proposals is the 1st November 2024. You should expect to hear back from the delegates in early December. Grainney & Ealee look forward to hearing your proposals.
